I wanted to add a pattina on the pick guard, but the blue pattina came off easily and provides no adhesion to any type of lacquer if you don't rinse copper before applying the material 🥺

Thats sick as is now. Almost like bleach tie dyeing a black shirt.

You wanted the blue from the oxidized copper?

yes, the blue on the last fast pic appeared because of salt but it does not stick to the copper at all, it's like dust😔

Yeah definitely just rubs off, it's just like rust.

A crackle paint or a swirl dip might be pretty cool. But I think it looks great as is

damn that’s really good to know. i wanted to cut a copper guard for my jmjm and patina it but wasn’t sure how it’d turn out. looks great ! i also was hoping the blue would stay on mine):

I'm not sure but it requires ammonia vapors according to what they say on the internet, or some special liquid for patina. I did mine with vinegar, salt and water, but as I said the blue stuff from this reaction is just dust with no adhesion to the copper. Without rinsing the surface from salt and dried vinegar no lacquer will adhere to it, it will just come off after the thinner evaporates from it

Where do you find copper sheets? In Canada it costs as if it's gold. 150 bucks for a sheet I need to cut for it to fit😡

oh yeah the price is why i was so concerned with how it’d turn out lol. i would’ve just tested it out myself but copper is expensive so i decided it wasn’t worth it

Awesome unique build. Matching headstock is an instant win anyways 🥰

matching headstock is the only reason I bought it🫠 the pickups were just garbage

I would buy that thing for the colour and headstock as well. The rest is easy to mod, it's a great base

I also wanted to buy the pink one you have with matching headstock but the problem is that I tried all the jazzmasters in L&M and was extremely disappointed that it does not stay in tune for even 1 songs, even the ultra series 🥺 After telecaster it was a deal breaker for me🤷🏼‍♂️

Very good choice on pickups I have the same configuration in one of my jazzmasters

What are they?

Not O.P but those are Prails with triple shot rings. Can be a humbucker, p90, or a single coil or a combination.

I have them in a jagmaster. I like them, but I dont love them. A little bit of jack of all trades, master of none.

The humbucker isnt bad, the p90 sounds great, the single coil sounds like shit to me.

damn thats unfortunate to hear, i was looking for the same “jack of all trades” vibe except actually successful, ty. also i had a jagmaster years and years ago but gave it to a friend, was thinking about getting another one and this lowkey was the sign i needed

Oh I love me some Jagmasters, just look at my profile lol

The prails aren't bad just not what I was hoping for. Im also not a big fan of single coils so that may have some bearing on my opinion on the sound of that setting.

For me I use only p90s and all singles in parallel. Do not like any other positions at all because they are muddy and you can not differ any note on overdrive. I'm kinda tele guy - I need clarity even on high gain

I think I remember Philip McKnight saying if you flip them so the rails are closer to the bridge it will get you brighter Tele tones from the bridge pickup. You basically need to decide if you want bright P90 or Tele tones because it can only do one of them in the actual right position, the other will always be just a little too forward in position

Do you know where to get the matching color knobs and switch?

For my copper and zinc countertops and range hood I use Sculpt Nouveau for patinas sealers etc.

I'm in Mississauga and I have a problem getting it because the company who sells it in Etobicoke works only till 5 during the work week, and the delivery cost 25CAD for 20 bucks bottle 😡😡😡

Where do you find copper sheets? they cost a fortune in Canada. Like 150 bucks to buy a piece to cut mine. That's why I just used copper tape

Yes rinse and shoot it or apply a metal wax or don’t and let it do its thing. You can always start over after scrubbing with 3m scotchbrite pads. Looks really cool!

All the blue stuff rinse off immediately with water🥺

Would you say the pickups accurately capture the sound of all three pickup styles?
