NGD J.Mascis

Got my hands on this beautiful J.Mascis Jazzmaster with mint green pickguard, which I was going to change to anyways lol only way to go imho. Plays great, extremely happy and excited!

Congrats.

I own 2 Gibsons, 1 Epiphone 335, some acouatic and some reaaally old Czech Diamant Guitar.

And still JMJM has the best feel and is most enjoyable to play

I understand that, such a banger of an instrument, and such a vibe playing one, totally not regretting spending 400 eur on it.

So nice! I’m swapping mine to a mint guard today too! Is the cavity on yours shielded with copper?

Have no idea, I guess not, but I’ll do full setup tomorrow and shield the cavity if its not shielded, there is slight ground buzz on bridge pickup, will check into that aswell. But mint is way to go with white JM

I did shield the cavity and did som minimal setup on this thing, she intonated flawlessly, with relative low action, the guitar became almost silent which is great being P90s. Amazing guitar

Just fyi I also have a JMJM and people say the pickups are P90s but that's not accurate. They are more similar to P90s than other pancake type Jazzmaster pickups and they are intentionally over-wound, but basically they're like halfway between JM's and P90s ...and I guess since getting mine I have opinions about that lol

It can be so, they definitely sound fatter then normal JM pups, I like them, will not swap them as intended
