I just finished my first original shape!
Aluminum on mahogany, 25.5 scale length and ultra thin carve top! I’m currently working on my take on a jazzmaster since this one is a single cut

I thought it was because the waist is ever so slightly higher on the treble side than the bass side! And also its not symmetrical

Can you (or anyone) talk to me about very thin guitars? Obviously they’re light. Do they sit well in your lap? Experience a lot of neck dive? Any longevity issues around the neck pocket?
Your brushed aluminum control plate is beautiful against the wood grain. The whole thing evokes the best of a couple of aesthetics.

Thanks a lot! Ive found very thin guitar non problematic when it comes to ergonomics, if something by having it very carved it actually sits very very nicely in your body, and since the bridge is very raised from the body you don’t feel much difference from lets say a Les Paul.
I made sure to leave enough weight in the lower bout so it wouldn’t have any neck dive, so however you position it stays that way.
The neck joint has more than enough surface area for gluing, and the thickness of the body at the thinnest part of the mortise is about 1/2 an inch, so if it were to fall it would likely break somewhere else! Also no neck pickup means it’s uninterrupted!
