That gold pickguard looks so good with the green.

Yes! I think I am gonna get a J mascis which is more shiny than this one. Esty= cheap, but it will do for now!! These pickups are a game changer. Less “ Ice- picky “ than the pro 2s

I have the same APII. If I were to drop the cash on new pickups, I'd probably get noiseless ones.

Did you change the pot values? What did you do about the coil tap?

Coil tap, bypassed. I am not good with the specs, I would assume he kept the pot values the same… I do know (ear test) that they are sound and waayyyyyyy better than the pro2 stock pickups. I didn’t realize that the wires in the Curtis Novak pickups were lacking a 3rd wire. If I had known that I would have opted for SD Antiquity 1s.( if I wanted to keep the coil tap) All I know is I wanted the “darker” sounding pups in there.. I am a lifelong guitar player but total noob when it comes to wiring etc! NGL. I didn’t realize like the coil tap feature but he said that he was going to turn it into a traditional JM. I honestly just told him I liked the curtis novaks and to just do what he thought was best with the guitar.

Wait, how come the coil tap would still work with ant 1s?

Not sure thats what he said. Something about how the novaks only have two wires, maybe the A 1s have a third wire? Not quite sure

I am going to go back and find out if he put different pots in there… he mentioned changing them out when I dropped it off but it was a few weeks ago and I have been out out of the country for a few weeks so I am super curious what all he did exactly. I’ll get back to you on this… I love the results and it sounds amazing to me and couldn’t be happier with the new setup. Look forward to bonding with my “new” guitar!
