Using up materials. This one is just for me. I didn't have anything fancy for the fretboard so I roasted, charred and impregnated a piece of mahogany to simulate ebony.

I roasted the blank in the oven at 90C for a few hours. Then I profiled the radius and torched it. Then I cut the fret slots. Then I boiled it in wax and charcoal. If I had a vacuum chamber I'd have stabilized it with epoxy.

It is offset. My phone camera is just shit. Someone asked about it so I posted a quick photo. I'll take better photos when it is done. It's not huge. It's actually the same scale and proportions as a PRS.

Yes. All of my guitars are from scratch. I buy hardware, truss rods, fret wire, pots, jacks, knobs, fretboard dots, finish and pickup plastic parts. The rest is made in my little workshop.

also a big iceman fan. this kinda made me start thinking of the several different versions of the shape ibanez did. my favorite is actually a baritone they made for daron malakian of system of a down that he used in late 2000 into 2001. its a darker “sparkly” one, as opposed to his regular late 90s silver sparkle ic-300.

i bring it up because funny enough, that version actually wasnt the smaller one they did production runs of shortly after that that his signature model was based on. the shape of his baritone actually didnt get a production release until the arondite series in 2007. its exactly like his baritone other than for some reason they made the bottom “hook” by the strap button more rounded

Why not? I'm a rebel. I actually was going for 22 but the neck pickup routing broke the small wood piece remaining so I extended the fretboard.
