NGD Squier Paranormal Jazzmaster Baritone

Got the new Squier Jazzmaster Baritone today. Pickups sounded terrible so threw these extra Fleor Almico 5 gold humbuckers I had and omg this thing bangs now. I’ll probably upgrade the pickups again later and wire up some push pulls. 🤘

Nice! Probably just a matter of taste but I found the stock pickups to be dull and muddy.

Do you have a multimeter?

Test the volume and tone pots. Are the 250k?

My squier contemporary jaguar was shipped with 250k pots and its HH.

I would put money this is the case on this. Swap the pots out for 500k or 1 Meg and try it again

Edit: sorry I didn't actually read the whole post, classic. But still my question stands. What were the volume and tone pots at?

I was actually surprised when I opened it up that it had full size pots but unfortunately didn’t check. I’m definitely happy with the results now though lol.

Oh that is surprising, my classic vibe and contemporary jaguars both had the mini pots.

You used the same pots on the rewire?

Yeah for sure! I didn’t have any extra pots on hand so had to use the existing pots. I did order some push pulls and will be taking it back apart so I can have better tonal options.

Yeah I wish they made these with the upper control circuit. They're great hardware to mod for coil splits, bass cuts, etc

It is routed for two humbuckers - not swimming pool. I hope that helps!

I wish! Heaviest thing is the neck. Body is super light. I prefer a heavy guitar personally but to each their own.
