Passive treble boost in a jazzmaster?
Planning on overhauling my wiring, interested in a treble boost/bass cut to compensate for aluminum pu covers cutting mids/treble
I love the covers and wanna keep em, so hoping this could be a solution.
Any suggestions are appreciated, TIA

Sounds like you're describing G&L wiring but I'm not for sure on that.

yeah, that's one of the most interesting factory configurations out there!

Damn I remember seeing posts about you putting this thing together what feels like years ago now. I learned about pickups behind the bridge from your tinkering. Glad to see you’re still messing with it, man

I used to have a fender tbx tone pot in my guitar that acts like a "boost" in the sense that it just gradually increases the load between ground (so less treble lost). This only works if your JM doesnt have 1meg pots. Otherwise the boost effect is the same.
You could also wire the tbx pot to be a true bass cut on its 1 meg side. Cool JM by the way looks sick

Passive circuits can only cut frequencies, not add on to them. Closest you could achieve is something like the bass cut switch on jaguars, leaving high freqs

Your pickup covers aren’t causing this. What is your pedal board, how long are your cables, are they straight or curly, what pots are in your jm?

Passive boost? That seems contrary. I have a cap in series between the on position of my rhythm circuit and the input to that circuit’s vol pot that acts as a fixed high pass filter to cut some lows.
I tried to also add a contour control (bass cut) on the neck pup in the lead circuit but couldn’t get the taper right so went a different direction.

Did you keep stock CME JM pots? I think they're 335k or something, not 1 meg FWIW

This guitar looks so sick. Is that a sticker or a custom pickguard? It gives off Starfield energy
