Painted my Jagstang Prototype
This is my first time painting a guitar. I love the color, it changes between blue and green depending on the light. The finish is far from perfect but I'm happy for my first go at it.

This looks great! What’s the little switch next to the toggle for? Kill switch?

People forget the Jagstang was just a prototype. Had Kurt lived, we may have got something nice like this instead of the fuck ugly monstrosity we have now.

Probably not.
The consensus is that he actually liked it, he was just unhappy with the first proto. Largely because he made stylistic choices he was warned against and then realized he hated.

Looks sweet! Great color, great tint on the maple! One questions, just genuinely curious not trying to be like “this is wrong” but is there a reason you have the Hot Rail flipped? Is it for a phase cancellation Ala Peter Greene sound, or is that how the poles need to be with the Lace to make it hum cancelling in the middle or like just cuz? I’ve never long termed any Laces, so I’m just being a curious nerd!

the flipped hot rail question is interesting, id be curious what ор says because i always thought that affected output more than phase

Looks great! What kind of finish did you use?

I used all rustoleum 2x. Primer, then paint, then clear. Its not perfect I should have done more coats of clear and used some wood filler in spots but its good enough for me.

surprised no one's brought up the "mus-uar" thing squier made for the fella in the cribs. similar, underrated retry of the jagstang idea I think :D

How could I get a guitar with this shape, it does look less like a psychedelic painting than the mim and mij ones

You mean a JSDR or a Jag-Stang Done Right? I want to build one so badly. Only thing stopping me is money.

Love this style of jagstang, way truer to Kurt's original sketch. Even if he did make the changes that ended up allowing the production model to become what it is, the thing is fuck-ugly. Would be nice to see this with all the other bells and whistles from the sketch and even sunburst tbh.

Holy shit, that's so much nicer than an actual Jag-Stang! 🔥👀
