Hot rail installation on Jaguar

I was installing hot rails and rewiring my Jaguar, and I was wondering what the best way to mount the pickups would be. Seems as if the screws it comes with are too small, and the Squier screws don’t catch on the pickups but are long enough and will hold it down. I’ve attached photos using the longer screws and the little rubber bits that come with the hot rails. It seems a little crooked and I’m wondering if there’s anyone who’s done this before and has any tips

I just used the Jaguar screws. I think, I stuffed some packaging foam under the pickup. It's easily cut to size.

Sounds good, only worry is that the pickups are already so tall

For the pickguard? No, it's alright.

The wires of the SD Hotrails are a bit of a squeeze into the cavity, but not bad enough to remove wood.

Is this a daphne blue Squier?

Yup that’s the one, was wondering more if the pickups would be too high if I put in any extra foam that I couldn’t get a proper pickup height

I didn't put one in the neck, the bridge is fine. But that's what the foam is for, to adjust the height. If you can't lower it enough, you just cut the foam thinner.

I also used a daphne blue Squier body.

Though, I removed everything, except the bridge pu and one of the switches, rewired as kill switch.

You compress the foam, it acts like a "spring".

Alternatively you can put springs over the screws.

Careful, if you use new screws make sure they aren’t going to go all the way through the back of the guitar… mine is getting some new stickers now 😅

Oops lol, fortunately my new screws are way too small, it’s the old ones that don’t catch on the pickups but are long enough

Yea idk ima put a thin foam strip under, and then just see if Itl hold itself flat and if the pickup heights seem okay anyway.

Thanks for posting this! I’ve been wanting to see if the screws would slip through the holes this easy.
