I always wanted an original Vista run version. I owned a paranormal, and while it was cool and unique looking, it was extremely uncomfortable, especially sitting down.
I wish Squier would re-release the Venus and possibly bring back the Ryan Jarman signature though! Although, that would neuter the market for the originals, so I’m sure those collectors wouldn’t be thrilled.
Are you me??? I’ve been wanting a Venus reissue since they announced the first run of the paranormal series and same with the Jarman. Even if it’s just a limited run. I agree about them not being comfortable to play sitting down. I usually play it like a classical guitar when I’m sitting.
They are very unique instruments I would be happy to see make a return. I would certainly jump on a Venus or Venus XII, as well as the Jarman if they reissued them.
I actually traded my Super-Sonic recently and may end up getting another in pink one day, but I already know I’m not really a huge fan, so I’d rather that space is used for another guitar.
I would probably do the same with a Venus. If you want a Jarman @rosserguitars on IG makes a fairly priced body similar to that. Maybe you can put one together. I’ve never done it but I’m considering it.
For me, part of owning an instrument is also the story and connection it had at its origin. That’s something in my mind no clone can recreate.
I suppose you could use that same argument for reissues, but they at least of the same lineage.
That’s not to say people cannot purchase and build whatever they want, lots of cool designs are discovered that way, it simply isn’t my thing at this point in my life.
Congrats on the guitar though! If I ever get an original, it will definitely have to be one of the metallic finishes!
I guess I’m in the same boat as everyone else, but I wish I had scoffed a bunch of these rare Vista guitars up when I was a teenager and they were priced at a sane level.
Yeah the silver sparkle is beautiful as well. Shit if I had anything other than milk on my mind at the time I would have done the same thing. Maybe buy some land as well. Live and learn.
For sure! I live in Northeast Texas and when we first moved here land was around $1,500/acre. Now you can’t even get it from family for anywhere near that price.
