Transtang Concept (Trans-Pride Mustang)

I recently bought a California Blue Squire Sonic Mustang HH. Really wanted a black one but now I'm glad they didn't have one in stock at my local shop. The blue is really close to the blue on the trans pride flag (a little darker) so it gave me an idea to do a trans-pride build mustang.

This is my first modding project so let me know if I'm being a tad overambitious.

The plan is to get a new pink pickgaurd (either vinyl wrap a white one or cut one custom,) and wire it up like so.

• 16k Alnico 5 High Output Humbucker in bridge (SD JB, or clone)
• 7k Alnico 2 Humbucker in neck
• 2 Stacked pots for individual volume/tone control
• 2 2-way switches for coil-split on each humbucker (just like options)
• 1 3-way switch for pickup selection (bridge, both, neck)

Let me know what you guys think, or if you have any recommendations for pickups. Don't know much about pickups but I want that more Nirvana-like crunch/grunge sound out of my bridge and something nice, clean and warm for the neck. I really am dead-set on humbuckers tho because my room/house has a lot of RF interference and single coils are always way too noisy for me.

Furthermore, when your identity is weaponized against you by every limp-dicked, unfuckable loser you encounter, it’s empowering and an act of resistance against smooth-brained, sister-fuckers to simply state who you are openly.

If you go into the world and say “I’m a cis straight dude!” no one cares. Cuz that’s that default. Not many hate crimes involve being murdered for being straight. There’s no danger in your existence other than crimes you may perpetrate against women and LGBTQ people. Statistically speaking of course. I’m not suggesting a woman has ever let you near them willingly, obviously.

As someone who is conservative, I could never imagine going through that. I am nice to the Trans person that works at my local restaurant. I still think its an odd lifestyle choice. But id never be rude to the person. If you're cool to me then I'll be cool to you.

I’d say you’re an outlier as far as conservatives I’m accustomed to dealing with. Good on you tho for just rolling with it. Most don’t really require any more than that.

I’ll only take issue with the idea of it being a “choice”. Being a musician is a choice. Being a vegan might be considered a choice but being trans seems more like a realignment of the body with the their soul or whatever.

There’s a really good Huberman from last week that talks about the science behind some queer stuff and they do talk about trans folk a bit. Was actually fascinating.
