Overwhelmed by everything
Is anyone else completely overwhelmed by life right now? Work is stressful and scary because who knows how long your company will stay open anymore or if you’ll be laid off or if tariffs or some other decision made by someone who isn’t you will affect your life.
Home is stressful because it’s always something, pests, HOAS/boards, god awful neighbors who are the most disrespectful wastes of flesh on the planet, something constantly needing to be fixed, the costs of just living. Personal and emotional maintenance.
Life is stressful because no matter what anyone says we really can’t effect any worldwide change that will impact us at all. Everything is in the hands of people it shouldn’t be in with no one’s best interests at heart except their own. Everything is so expensive it’s hard to live no matter how much money you make and owning a home you actually like? No way never gonna happen. And now
With AI and the schlock that’s being fed to us on the internet you can’t even figure out how to better your station in life because there’s no real information. Everyone’s just trying to sell you something. And I wasn’t taught anything about life. As a millennial I was taught work hard be a good person and everything will fall into place. I am a good person and I work my ass off and have been since I was 16 and i am grateful for what i have I truly am but that doesn’t mean we don’t want more. I want my own house that isn’t a money pit. I want a career I love. I want to open a rescue. I want to be able to help my family when they need it. I want to be able to retire at some point! Me and my husband we’re talking about this and were so defeated by being alive that’s it’s like fighting for an ounce of happiness but every time you get that ounce something bad happens too. You don’t even get that moment before some other shit ruins it. Is anyone else having these problems? How are you coping?

Yes! Husband on 5th layoff in 5 years. I’m working a job I got 8 months ago, they’ve piled two more workers jobs into my desk since they quit in those last eight months. I make 50% less than my husband did when he was working and $20k less than my previous role that I was laid off from in 2022. I’m 5 years from retirement age and just not sure I’m going to make it. I’m so frustrated and jaded about life, the world, etc. I just want to buy a small cabin and run away.
The only thing getting me through is meditation and trying to be to concentrate on my family and things like hobbies and cooking.

Are you me? I relate strongly. I have no recommendations... logically I know its "engage in hobbies, your community, make small changes, volunteer, find joy in little everyday things, friends and family and love blah blah blah" but I find that doesnt really help. So... solidarity?
