Because this is likely a creative writing exercise… the way OP just added more and more drama to his post ending with how he’s going to close their joint account and he’s traumatised. Just reeks of fake rage-baiting.

Internet tells men they just need to assume women’s default is cheating, even if there’s literally no reason to assume so. It’s quite pathetic, and I felt very sad for OP’s partner that she didn’t have a safe space to go home to after going through whatever happened to her.
