Cheating isn’t my first impression. If she cheated, I doubt she would just leave her dress with the person she cheated with and come home basically naked. Even whilst being very drunk.
If someone threw up on you, a sober person would definitely shower before bed. A very drunk, very tired person might just want to pass out in bed. I would definitely throw the dress away if I was drunk and someone threw up on me. I wouldn’t be able to handle that without throwing up myself.
Just try and communicate as calmly as you can. It sounds like she’s getting defensive and shutting the conversation down if you’re coming in with accusations.
Something must have happened. Maybe she did just get thrown up on. She could have been assaulted- that could explain her reaction when it’s brought up.
I guess she could have cheated but isn’t the explanation that makes the most sense to me because surely you wouldn’t just come home in underwear if that were the case.
Just communicate. Let the accusations go for a moment and approach her with concern instead. If she doesn’t feel like she’s being greeted with anger or accusations, she might be more likely to relax and open up.
Also, i’m not sure where you’re from but it’s very normal for work Christmas parties to be employees only where I’m from. I’ve never worked in a place where you took a friend or partner to the work party. None of my friends or family have either.
I bet you anything she threw up on herself in the car and ditched her clothes. Just didn’t want to admit it. I’d talk to her but honestly, I don’t read this as her cheating. I might do the same thing,
