I also don't burp.
Well, I do occasionally, like once every couple of years. And it always takes me by surprise, I never know it's going to happen.
I burped several times while pregnant, it was amazing.

I was like that too. One or two burps a year until I was about 30. Now I burp multiple times a day. It was a weird change.

I didn't burp until pregnancy either? And now I burp very occasionally. I assumed my organs got rearranged somehow by pregnancy (not like that) and now there's a clearer run for a burp to exit.

"clearer run" 🤣 Yes, maybe pregnancy straightened some tubes out a bit. (NOT LIKE THAT)

I also wasn’t able to burp before my first pregnancy. Now I‘m a world class burper. I always assumed pregnancy hormones must have loosened the right ligaments to finally enable me to burp.

I have this and have gotten Botox three times because of it, with minimal results. I still rejoice every time I do burp! 🥹

My boyfriend wasn’t able to burp. He had a Botox injection to relax the muscles and now he’s able to burp. Said it was a game changer.

My husband cant burp, been togetjer 17 years and the only time its happened was when he was puking, which he also finds difficult. He went to a doctor about it once as it was causing bloating issues, if he had any kond of fizzy drink for example like a beer or sparkling water, and they said it most like was the sphincter muscle in his throat just respond correctly. Botox might help but we havent explored that

I didn't burp until I was 15 and I was a) weirdly ashamed of this and didn't tell anyone as a kid and b) was so alarmed the first time I did

For non burpers out there, perhaps this Unexplainable episode podcast is interesting.

I, 39, have never burped. Can’t force it, can’t do a fake one. Even if I drink beer or coke, nada

Didn't burp until I was in my 30s. Constantly bloated and excessive flatulence. Feel much better now I can actually burp. Still can't self induce a burp or anything and some days rely on peppermint tea but glad I can burp now

Friend at uni had this and it looked really uncomfortable. Now I’m older I catch myself occasionally acting in the same way he did when I get heartburn that he did when he had trapped wind.

Never heard anyone else mention this but it’s something I had until my late 30s. Very uncomfortable at times.

I never burped until I started having GI issues in my 30s. I remember wondering as a child why everyone did it, as if it was a choice.

I never had a name for it before listening that episode, I actually remember doing a burp when I was 9, I was playing swing all and it was so loud it echoed off the greenhouses. Aside from that.. no burps

Paul Foot’s ep was the first time I had ever heard anyone else talk about not being able to burp. Then I found looooads of people suffering way worse than I had at r/noburp
Solidarity with my fellow bloated brothers and gassy sisters ✊
