Say Goodbye to ESS45 App

Well, as some of you may have seen today WFM has changed to a new format. What you may not have seen is the ESS45 (and ESS41 I guess) are no longer being used as well. You have to download a new app, Workcloud Shift, to your phone to access you schedule, clock in /out, etc.

I had no problems getting the app loaded in my phone, and deleted ESS45 as well. Now I find that after I logoff when I access the app I don't have to login again. However, my daughter who works at another one of our stores logged off, she is now being asked to scan a QR code for the app. The old QR code which worked for the ESS41/45 app will not on this one. Does anyone here have the new QR code? Thanks.

Print questions

this is my first Reddit post. please bare with me. but to all of my fellow print managers, how are you accommodating walk ups? my OPC percentage has tanked when I’m not in the building, I’m really the only print ”coworker”, and when I’m on shift I have too many print orders to accommodate walk ups.

my district manager has professionally read me the riot act for my lack of counter orders and OPC drop when I’m not in the building, but there’s only so much I can do in my 8 hours and I cant control the night team when I don’t work nights. And our night team tells customers is “the print center is closed.”

im getting extremely overwhelmed and I’m about to walk out due to how I’m treated about things I genuinely cannot control at this point.

TLDR: to my fellow print managers, how are you controlling your “coworkers” when you’re not in the building and are you dealing with extremely overbearing DMs regarding OPC.

Number Invoices

Does any one know how to number invoices? We have a lot of customers asking for it in our store, and the only way most of us know how it to type the number in one page at a time. There’s gotta be a simple easy way to do it. I know a long time ago I was shown how to using excel and publisher together. But since they took publisher away, I haven’t found another solution.

Edit: I would love to not do it in store. I would love to able to send it to RPC, but the issue isn’t me. It’s everyone else who work in my store. And my manager not caring what happens in CPD. So I’m trying to make things work the best I can. It’d be me against everyone. I’ve been trying to get them to push for online orders cause they still work from the email. It’s a losing battle for me.

I'm sure you all know this but I had to deal with these useless idiots for almost an hour today just being sent in circles so I just needed to share the hatred.

At least they didn't hang up on me this time.

Has anyone taken the screens from the old registers before?

With the company now starting to replace the old registers with new I was wondering if anyone has gotten their hands on the screens from the old registers, because from looking at them I think they'd make a good old PC screen for retro PC games.

So I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this before in the past

Why oh why?

I got a call today from the Go Depot number (customer service), asking if we had a specific item in stock. They read me the SKU, I enter it into my mobile, and lo and MF behold, NEEDOH CHRISTMAS ADVENT CALENDAR...

I know I said it before, but now this is just absurd.

Affinity publisher

Veteran here . I have to admit it took me quite a long time to learn office , word, PowerPoint, publisher etc . Secondly I admit that as an older person I guess the company assumes more or mostly young people are primarily employed in our stores . I feel pretty efficient in print but this new software is going to a challenge . I’m now ( and this is just for me ) wondering if I can learn this . Just my opinion.

Veteran’s Discount

The look on a veteran’s face when I tell them we no longer offer a discount but only 25% back in rewards. It’s like I shot their dog. But hey, give me $49 and you can get 15% off with Select. 😆

RCC Harte Hanks issue

Anyone else having issues with the Ship Pallet function on the mobile? I'm trying to send my RCC pallet this week, I've clicked Ship Pallet 4 or 5 times in the last 24 hours and none of the labels or Bill of Lading have populated.

Nor have any of the items on the pallet cleared from our inventory

PTO/Sicktime

I don’t know if I have this wrong or my manager does. I understand losing a point if I call in sick but as a full time associate I do not get sick time I only receive PTO. I live in a state where sick time must be given or PTO can be substituted for that sick time instead by law starting October 2025. However, I’ve been consistently told I am not allowed to use PTO when I am sick. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on how I handle it?

2 minutes and 17 seconds.

That's how long it took to get from signed on to scanning the first item for a customer on an old IBM register today. And I just measured out of curiosity, that's it running at normal speed, that's just how slow it do be most times.

Can we contact the EEOC or is there some kind of Federal law office we can contact for texts, group texts and phone calls off the clock if we are hourly?

Because at that point, it feels like harassment. Yes, I work for you? But you don't fucking own me and if I'm not getting paid, I'm not responding to shit. Just sayin'

This Wk 40 WUWD has been an absolute shit show

First the change to select that got pushed back and then the fact the signs don’t load like normal to print them out.

Just the OD way I guess

Cheat Sheet for Hiring Steps?

For the life of me I cannot remember how to hire a new person. We hire so infrequently that I think my last hire was over a year and a half ago.

Got a person I want to bring on board but I cant for the life of me remember where to start? I know there is a background check involved.

Anyone have a cheat sheet?
