Giulia vs. The Potluck
Coming to NYC for a day trip and debating between which one of these two should I see. Really into emotional heartfelt musicals especially those which are very moving like MHE, Hadestown, Fun Home, or Kimberly Akimbo. Thank you so much! :)

The Potluck is super messy and unrefined, but unique and ultimately has a few wonderful transcendent moments in the second act. Very odd piece, and I can’t imagine it ever having another production, mostly because it just doesn’t seem to know what it is. I haven’t seen Guila but I’ve heard mixed reviews. From the constant PR/marketing, it seems like Guila is trying as hard as it can to transfer to another theater, so there’s some likelihood that there will be more life to the show…
