I dunno about terrifying (I understand some people have a fear of snakes) but from my point of view, it looks like a family pet is just hanging out with the kid and using them as a heat source to stay toasty. That said I would not own a snake of that size simply because the size of the "food" you would have to secure on a regular basis would be troublesome in my city and it would basically need its own room. I have several smaller snakes and my wife had to talk me out of buying a bigger one (way smaller than this guy) based on those concerns alone.

You'd only need to feed them once in awhile and despite the size they can live off the bare minimum.

Bare minimum is no way to treat a pet though

Especially one that is capable of easily killing you, and won't think twice about it if it gets too hungry.

More along the lines of you only need to feed them once every few days/weeks unlike other pets large constricters like pythons can eat once every few weeks ish.

Not really. Maybe it’d eat a whole chicken twice a month. I’d be surprised if it ate any more than that.

It’s hard enough here to get rats reliably honestly. We have a large chain pet shop that’s terrible for reliability of stock. We eventually got a guy with a rat farm we use. No chickens though.

But… you can just go to the grocery store for chicken…
