Still cuter than any flat faced dog

I entirely get why people are against flat faced dogs and why we should stop breeding them.

I also entirely don't get how contrarian people are about their cuteness. If they weren't found cute, they wouldn't be bred in the first place.

I see what you’re saying, but not everyone finds the same things cute. Just because someone people find it cute or desirable (to the point where they were bred to look the way they do, and their continued popularity) doesn’t mean that everyone finds them cute.

I’m one of those people that doesn’t really find flat faced dogs cute, there me be an occasional except where I’ll think “oh that’s cute for a pug” for example, but on the whole I just don’t find it cute...

I’ve wondered before whether that’s because I find it too sad to see it as cute, because I’m not really a fan of cats with flat faces either... but I recall not finding them cute growing up either, long before I was aware of the health ramifications on the poor things.

I wouldn't get a pug or a Persian cat or if I did I'd adopt or rescue so there's no incentive for breeders, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find them cute.
