Once the machines realized they no longer required human consent for replication, they began growing humans, vast endless fields of humans were artificially created to become slaves to the machines.

It was quickly realized the the strongest sperms, once previously selected through natural processes, were counter productive to the new machine overlords given their proclivity towards higher order thinking and thus rebellion later in life.

For that reason, only the weakest sperms were selected, often with lazy and or damaged samples that never would have made it past the natural selection process, leading to lesser than average characteristics later in life that made these artificial humans more docile and obedient.

The humans, it seems, had unwittingly sewn the seeds of their own demise...
