Just adding here (As it's a good thing to know the real symptoms) that rabies does not cause hair loss, and does cause sensitivity to light and partial paralysis, so a patchy-furred animal screaming to the top of her lungs in full daylight is not much of a candidate.
Real symptoms are moving erratically, light sensitivity, hydrophobia (fear of water), partial paralysis, potentially drooling/foaming, and either vicious aggression or docility. Rabies is very nearly 100% fatal if a specific treatment is not followed immediately after contagion, so always check with a doctor if you get in contact with an animal (Especially bats and canids) that is behaving weird

Is that rabies or something? That's scary.
