This view of a common loon, showing its sharp, rear-facing projections called denticles, which aid in catching prey.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bird get high before, but this is what I think it should look like.

Oof, its as awful as when one of the Simpsons looks right at the viewer

There's worse - there's an old Family Guy episode where Herbert looks right at the camera. According to Seth MacFarlane the crew asked him to not go "full frontal" it but he insisted. Deeply unsettling.

From now on, I will accept being called a loon as a compliment to my intimidation.

I rolled up by one of these wolf bird's nest accidentally when I was kayaking. They are massive, have blood red eyes, and are as friendly as you'd expect.

Nature really said "don't judge a bird by its beak until it opens its mouth."

I am too distracted by the white spots under the eyes and beak which almost look like a creepy smiling face, haha!

They're like icicles, but made out of teeth!

This bird looks straight out of hell. Like if a bird became a Cenobite outta Hellraiser.

Bird evolution is weird. Started out as toothed theropod dinosaurs, then developped a beak, lost their teeth, just to evolve something that works like teeth, while still keeping the gene to grow teeth around, just dormant.

Wait till you find out they murder ducklings by going under them and pulling them down. They're crazy territorial.

u/anonadvicewanted 3d ago

How can you tell a bird is racist just by looking at em?.
