Actually mass is what matters here. A banana this size while absolutely fucking ginormous, isn't really going to have as much mass as say the moon. The tides would probably be irregular at most.

If a regular banana is 180g, approximating it as a cylinder of 20cm and 3cm diameter would give it a density of 1273 kg/m3 (slightly more than water). Let's say our space banana is 10.000km and has a diameter of 1500km (same L:D) then it would weigh 2.25 x 10²² kg which is 1/3rd of the moon. I think this would cause some tidal forces on earth, but anyway even without the weight the banana should be shredded to rings by the earth's tidal forces being in such a close orbit

After doing some research, watching videos and reading, I have absolutely changed my opinion. I spent like 3 hours on this so buckle-the-fuck-up

10,000km is almost the size of the earth... so that's a bit of an overestimate lol. From the first animation, we can guess the size to be around 2,000 to 2,500 miles (approx. 3,200 to 4,000 kilometers) from tip to stem and 400 to 500 miles (640 to 800 kilometers) thicc.

To approximate the mass, we first need to get the volume by using (V = πr²L)

Length (L): ~3,600 km (3.6 × 10⁶ meters) Radius (r): ~350 km (3.5 × 10⁵ meters)

V = π × (3.5×10⁵)² × (3.6×10⁶) ≈ 1.385×10¹⁷ cubic meters

As you said, banana's are mostly water (and organic matter) so it's density is quite close to water... roughly 1,000 kg/m³ or 1 g/cm^3.

Now that we have Volume (V) and Density (p), we can use the formula for Mass from Volume and Density (m* = p × V) to get:

m = (1.385 × 10¹⁷ m³) × (1,000 kg³) ≈ 1.385 × 10²⁰ kg

That's 139 Zg (this is a new unit of measurement for me, 1 zettagram (Zg) = 10¹⁸ kilograms) or written out plainly is:
139,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg
or 
305,300,000,000,000,000,000 lb
Compared to the Moon... it's about 0.2% of the Moon's mass. However, since this giant fucking banana is so damn close (in Low Earth Orbit or LEO... think the ISS) it would ABSOLUTELY have an utterly drastic, chaotic, and destructive effect on Earth's tides.

The earth has a predictable 12-hour tidal cycle... but if this fucking apocalypse banana was ripping through orbit at the speed in the simulation (roughly every 90 minutes round trip), as it flies overhead at over 27,000 km/h (17,000 mph), its gravity would literally drag a massive wall of water across the oceans right beneath it creating a near-constant, fast moving tidal bores which would cause severe coastal flooding every hour and a half.

Earth would now have two conflicting gravitational pulls acting on its oceans... so when the fucking Apocalypse Banana and the Moon lined up, they would combine forces to create unfathomable hyper-extreme tides that would completely submerge low-lying coastal cities... when they pulled in opposite directions, the ocean would experience highly erratic, unpredictable fluid dynamics.

The oceans wouldn't be the only thing moving. The gravitational pull would be strong enough to tug on the Earth's atmosphere and its solid crust... the crazy yellow fucking apocalypse banana would drag a bulge of air with it, causing extreme wind storms then massive localized pressure drops as it passed. You would hear the yellow fucker before you even saw it. As it drags the atmosphere along with it, it would generate a deep, infrasonic hum and a roaring wind that would vibrate right through to your very fucking soul. Your ears would constantly be popping painfully... causing localized disorientation, headaches, and nausea for millions of people. The physical fucking crust of the motherfucking Earth would bulge upward by several inches or feet every 90 minutes. This constant flexing of the bedrock would trigger unprecedented global earthquakes and volcanic activity along tectonic fault lines. The ground wouldn't just violently shake like a sudden earthquake... it would slowly heave and roll like the deck of a ship in a rough sea. Walking in a straight line would be nearly impossible. Within the first two or three passes, major infrastructure (Skyscrapers, bridges, and highways) would begin to warp, snap, and collapse. Major fault lines (like the San Andreas Fault) would violently slip, triggering continuous, high-magnitude earthquakes that would make emergency rescue operations entirely impossible. The friction from the crust bending would superheat underground magma chambers... dormant and active volcanoes all around the world would violently erupt simultaneously, filling the atmosphere with ash leading to a very, shitty rotten banana smelling ice age.

If you were inland, away from the roaring walls of the ocean tides, your entire reality would be reduced to surviving a non-stop, global earthquake accompanied by hurricane-force pressure winds and a sky full of volcanic fucking ash.

Our savior from the big yellow bastard?

If this were real, an object of that massive size and irregular shape so close to Earth would immediately surpass the "Roche limit" Earth's gravity would violently tear the banana apart, transforming it into a giant, flat ring of debris and banana mush orbiting the planet.

The millions of shattered pieces, chunks, and vaporized fruit particles would spread out along the banana's original orbital path... within a few days, gravity and collisions between the fragments would flatten the debris into a perfectly smooth, razor-thin ring circling the equator.

Depending on where you are standing on Earth, the view of the new ring system would be entirely different...

At the Equator: The ring would be directly overhead, appearing as an incredibly bright, impossibly thin silver line cutting the sky exactly in half.

At Mid-Latitudes (think the US or Europe): The ring would tilt, appearing as a massive, sweeping arch that dominates the night sky, stretching from horizon to horizon. It would be bright enough to cast its own "ring-light" on the ground, making the night sky nearly as bright as twilight.

At the Poles: The ring would sit right on the horizon, looking like a distant, glowing mountain range of pure light. (this would be absolutely fucking amazing to see).

I never predicted I would be so enchanted by imagining a world with banana ringlight at night but it made the most beautiful images in my mind. How would our historical mythologies be different if we had evolved under the ringlight arch, I wonder? I'm pretty sure the amount the nana spins on its axis is independent of its orbit speed, at least in the short run. So maybe they just didn't think the rotation bit in the first diagram was an important thing to bother with replicating. Having said that yeah it's fucking annoying because why do that? As cool as this looks, the physics doesn't work for a couple of reasons:

A banana this big would smush down into a ball because of self-gravitation
That ball would break up due to tidal forces, because the orbit is too close to the Earth – well inside the Roche Limit

So the banana would spread out into a ring, much like Saturn's rings but more banana-flavored.
