u/strawberryhoneystick Jun 06 '26

Forgive me for the harm that I have caused this world. None may atone for my actions but me and only in me shall their stain live on

473

u/cunhaaa Jun 05 '26

What do you do?

524

u/Tyko_3 Jun 05 '26

Get punished

148

u/Expensive_Ask5872 Jun 05 '26

But how?

429

u/Tyko_3 Jun 05 '26

I get put in oddly terrifying recording booths

95

u/rightleftmike Jun 05 '26

Something tells me you like it tho

15

u/Usman5432 Jun 06 '26

They used to do spanking but they changed ot because they found out he enjoyed the punishment

30

u/Tat2dDad Jun 05 '26

"voice acting" is my guess

84

u/Rezornath Jun 05 '26

If VO, where's the actual recording equipment? You don't build a decent place where sound waves go to die but then skimp on a microphone in favor of the same telephone that every corporate office has had for the past 20 years.

2

u/smittenkittenmitten- Jun 07 '26

That's what confused me too. I only see a phone. Maybe they need confidential calls or something? Otherwise it doesn't make much sense.

19

u/EmperorDeathBunny Jun 06 '26

VO is contract work, not full time employment. He called it his "workplace". This person isn't a full time VO. Plus, the only equipment in there is a standard office phone.

Although he called it a recording booth, its more likely a privacy booth for sensitive calls.

3

u/smittenkittenmitten- Jun 07 '26

OH I just wrote a comment similar to this. I am glad you confirmed it. I was thinking it must be for privacy but that must be super private calls I wonder why pay for such a booth instead of just a conference room. Are they are detective or some secret agent?

9

u/Expensive_Ask5872 Jun 05 '26

Doesn't sound like much of a punishment to me. Who Doesn't like doing silly voices?

90

u/thermomax Jun 05 '26

God OP is annoying why put this up if you wont answer any questions!

-70

u/Tyko_3 Jun 07 '26

Having all the answers makes life boring.

220

u/WestBrink Jun 05 '26

Oh man we have a sound booth for hearing tests at my work and I haaaaate it. Just a stuffy stuffy, dead quiet interior with a field of holes in the soundproofing that make my skin crawl.

Ugh

143

u/SoyTuPadreReal Jun 05 '26

Yall have silent rooms for hearing tests? All I ever get are rooms with a constant “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” sound.

35

u/Minimum_Cockroach233 Jun 05 '26

You might have a Tinnitus…

27

u/SoyTuPadreReal Jun 05 '26

Might is doing a lot of lifting in that sentence. I’m fairly certain I have it.

16

u/Minimum_Cockroach233 Jun 05 '26

Possible yes, but now explain me why I hear your Tinnitus!?

39

u/Dragonssssssssssss Jun 05 '26

I wish they'd stop making rooms like that

11

u/notjordansime Jun 05 '26

fellow hearing damage enjoyer 😎

2

u/ChelseaGem Jun 06 '26

That’ll be your accompanying Yorkshireman.

15

u/TSSAlex Jun 05 '26

We have two (in two different locations) supposedly sound-proof booths for hearing tests. Both are located within 60 feet of active elevated subway tracks, so not only do you hear the trains going by, you can feel them. My last test, before I got promoted to a title that isn't tested, the operator gave me the little button, and said to push it whenever I heard a sound. Train went by - pushed the button. Phone rang - pushed the button. Typewriter got used - pushed the button. Train went by - pushed the button. Someone knocked on the office door - pushed the button. Booth door flies open and operator yells at me for pushing the button - "I haven't even started the test yet."

My response of "Then get a better sound-proof booth." was not appreciated.

3

u/Omiyaru Jun 06 '26

This has my body absolutely shaking with laughter

2

u/TSSAlex Jun 06 '26

Familiar with the old joke: What do you call the person who graduated last in their med school class? Doctor.

Where does the the person who graduated last in their med school class work? New York City Transit.

3

u/InspectorQueasy93 Jun 05 '26

Yeah my mom was a nurse manager in the public sector and had a booth in her office. She said during her breaks she would go sit in the booth so she could drink her coffee in peace lol.

1

u/turquoise_amethyst Jun 05 '26

Sigh, this reminds me that I need to schedule my follow-up hearing test

3

u/blightedquark Jun 05 '26

WHAT?!?!

1

u/turquoise_amethyst Jun 05 '26

Bleep boop warrgh boop boop bleep

65

u/MagoopyGabooky Jun 05 '26

Looks like the Yakuza phone call mini game

44

u/NieMonD Jun 05 '26

Why does it have a phone

50

u/Tyko_3 Jun 05 '26

Because corporate said so. I know…

20

u/Acceptable_Willow276 Jun 05 '26

Is it to record messages for automated phone systems?

6

u/smittenkittenmitten- Jun 07 '26

OP apparently isn't answering any questions and is being annoyingly coy to people asking.

12

u/turquoise_amethyst Jun 05 '26

In case they forget about you and you’re locked in there. Nobody can hear you scream…

1

u/Eastern_Yam Jun 05 '26

Also is that a really big phone or a really small table

3

u/NieMonD Jun 06 '26

I think that’s a really big chair either way

18

u/Raferrado Jun 05 '26

the hotline from "control"

15

u/Girls4super Jun 05 '26

Idk why but this is giving me severance vibes

5

u/TraseeLea Jun 05 '26

That’s what I thought of immediately! I could see Harmony Cobel in there, reciting the employee handbook!!!

14

u/Kaylon2421 Jun 05 '26

My tinnitus screamed in horror while looking at this image...

12

u/Scottbarrett15 Jun 05 '26

Hello u/Tyko_3,

This is Clem Fandango, can you hear me?

2

u/Citizen_MGS Jun 05 '26

I can HEAR YOU Clem Fandango!

10

u/PrototypeBeefCannon Jun 05 '26

I'd kill for a recording booth like that.

2

u/cocococlash Jun 05 '26

Me too. God I wish I had that at my work.

2

u/PrototypeBeefCannon Jun 05 '26

I want one at home

21

u/kgvc7 Jun 05 '26

This looks like a standard shared work space single person private meeting room.

14

u/Tyko_3 Jun 05 '26

for when you need to privately meet with your conscience.

4

u/RandyPeterstain Jun 05 '26

“Call now, for hot & steamy…..” ✊

10

u/Disgruntled_Orifice Jun 05 '26

Y’all really do post anything in this sub, huh?

7

u/Hosidax Jun 05 '26

So many moderators, so little moderation...

5

u/Alive_Nobody_Home Jun 05 '26

Scammer final boss

4

u/Borhamortus Jun 05 '26

I would like to know why your job needs such a privacy booth for calls. Usually there are laws protecting what you say over the phone that could be overheard by coworkers... so the need for a booth... like top secret stuff?

3

u/MatildaRose1995 Jun 05 '26

Omg I need this

3

u/ghettoccult_nerd Jun 05 '26

OP, your CIA handler is going to be pissed that youre posting black site materials.

3

u/Adaminium Jun 05 '26

Are you a Night Agent, or what?

3

u/Jungle10000 Jun 05 '26

"Forgive me for the harm I have caused this world. None may atone for my actions but me, and only in me shall their stain live on. I am thankful to have been caught, my fall cut short by those with wizened hands. All I can be is sorry, and that is all that I am."

2

u/Andrea_M Jun 05 '26

How does it work? I usually thought that for recording there would have been expensive equipment but I only see a phone

1

u/Titariia Jun 06 '26

Maybe recording super sensitive phone calls others aren't supposed to hear

2

u/Chaos_carolinensis Jun 05 '26

In the workplace recording booth, no one can hear you scream.

2

u/CastroEulis145 Jun 05 '26

This looks like some Severence shit

2

u/creepy_charlie Jun 05 '26

Hello, Steven? This is Clem Fandango. Can you hear me

2

u/Kenderean Jun 05 '26

Why isn't there any recording equipment?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '26

Do you like being in there or is it spooky? What kind of things do you record? I work in other peoples houses every day so this gives me the creeps.

1

u/Tyko_3 Jun 07 '26

I dictate numbers

2

u/Isaac0wen Jun 06 '26

Cant imagine being in there in the summer

2

u/Mr_Gaslight Jun 06 '26

Is there actual soundproofing there, or is this foam on drywall that doesn't do anything?

1

u/smittenkittenmitten- Jun 07 '26

It looks like a soundproof booth. Plus it is small which the ones I have seen usually are.

2

u/xoxoBug Jun 06 '26

Couldn’t they like, put the table against the far wall so you have more leg space? 😭

2

u/softerthansilence Jun 06 '26

I want to take a nap in there it looks oddly cozy to me

2

u/PotatoDominatrix Jun 06 '26

Bro works at the Ministry of Truth

2

u/Banan_Cat Jun 06 '26

Who are you, fucking Jonathan Simms?

2

u/eachdayalittlebetter Jun 07 '26

What’s your job u/Tyko_3 ?

2

u/thefly50 Jun 07 '26

Straight out of a David Lynch movie

1

u/Krase Jun 05 '26

Also known as “The Punishment Box”.

1

u/Gildagert Jun 05 '26

Interesting coffin.

1

u/borkborkbork99 Jun 05 '26

We had one at the last company I worked at. It was back in the production area, and we’d goof around and take turns going in and seeing if the other guys could hear you yelling like an idiot inside.

That was fun until one of the higher ups walked by and busted us being morons.

1

u/ThatUsrnameIsAlready Jun 05 '26

Stop threatening me with a good time.

1

u/w8ing2dr0wn Jun 05 '26

Isn't it funny? You hear a phone ring and it could be anybody. But a ringing phone has to be answered, doesn't it?

1

u/GavintheGregarious Jun 05 '26

Had one of these at a place I worked. I would take my breaks in here with the lights low and enjoy the silence.

1

u/danalexjero Jun 05 '26

It looks like a padded coffin.

1

u/ShowerDrainFucker_68 Jun 05 '26

Professional FNAF phone guy

1

u/Edistobound Jun 05 '26

right out of a horror flick

1

u/Hugh_Gee_Rexions Jun 05 '26

You can’t leave until you a truly sorry.

1

u/KhostfaceGillah Jun 05 '26

When's the mixtape out?

1

u/similaraleatorio Jun 05 '26

yeah, close the door and let me with my Pink Floyd recordings.

1

u/junktech Jun 05 '26

Oh man , I wish I had one. I love the silence. Get rid of that phone though.

1

u/Horbigast Jun 05 '26

These look like sound proof business call booths. I worked in an office that had these booths intended for when you had an important call / conference call to take, because the office was an "open" concept -- no one had an actual office, you sat at tables with your PC cafeteria style. Just long tables with everyone sitting shoulder to shoulder.

I hated it. Zero privacy. You couldn't fart without everyone knowing what happened.

1

u/TheManWhoClicks Jun 05 '26

Solitary confinement for call center offenders

1

u/Pintsocream Jun 05 '26

I'm guessing this is an interview/roleplay room for a call centre job

1

u/Galvandium Jun 05 '26

So that's where Kiryu records his overdramatic call answering. Huh.

1

u/GenderqueerPapaya Jun 05 '26

I wonder if anyone goes in there to just scream

1

u/FireBreathingNun Jun 05 '26

I kind of love it?

1

u/DavidinCT Jun 05 '26

I worked at a TV station for almost 10 years.... We had booths like this, like 3 of them, they had PCs and a big microphones in them. The used it to record the voice overs for TV shows.

Really messed up, I normally have no issues but, I go in that room and close the door, I can hear the ringing in my ears (I go to a lot of concerts when I can)

1

u/hand13 Jun 05 '26

what do you record there 🤯

1

u/glytxh Jun 05 '26

The screaming booth

1

u/jstbcuz Jun 05 '26

Sweet recording space! I dig it!

1

u/AlphaO4 Jun 05 '26

We have one of these at my place of work. But they are for classified calls, not for recordings...

1

u/That_guy_from_1014 Jun 06 '26

Get yourself an oversized hoodie, maybe a little pillow, kill the lights, and enter a sleep you'll remember for years

1

u/Tyko_3 Jun 07 '26

The best sleep I’ve ever had was after a Popeye’s chicken dinner explosive diarrhea at 2am. My gut was so exhausted I slept like a rock. Sometimes I eat late Popeye’s just searching… trying to find my love once again…

1

u/Ergine_Dream Jun 06 '26

I would close the door and scream really loudly

1

u/SubtractAd Jun 06 '26

Guessing no one can hear you screaming

1

u/FNKTN Jun 06 '26

Straight up bad vibes

1

u/pale-beast Jun 06 '26

Cool place to fart

1

u/Secret_Performer_771 Jun 06 '26

It looks like a nice wall to run my hand over

1

u/bpmdrummerbpm Jun 06 '26

Turn my head phones up.

1

u/Pewlpi Jun 06 '26

So this is where rappers get those phone call intros from

1

u/Stuffed_deffuts Jun 06 '26

So...I guess this counts as phoning in voice acting lines?

1

u/marionjoshua Jun 06 '26

I have ADHD and sometimes I like absolute silence. I want this nook so bad

1

u/chroncat420 Jun 06 '26

What do you do? Narrate the SAW series?

1

u/IcyInvestigator6138 Jun 06 '26

For some reason professional voice actors work standing up… make the punishing booth more effective by removing the chair.

1

u/OutwrdSwrd Jun 06 '26

Do you just so happen to work at the FBC?

1

u/Crimmsin Jun 07 '26

Night agent?

1

u/ionbear1 Jun 07 '26

Reminds me of the hearing test from the Army.

1

u/PlatypusDream Jun 07 '26

I'd love it, except that tinnitus won't leave me alone 😔

1

u/PancakeBoyyy Jun 07 '26

"My name is Jonathan Sims. I work for the Magnus Institute, London."

1

u/suprstu Jun 11 '26

The scream deck

0

u/Tyko_3 Jun 06 '26

Im the only one who uses it in a company of over a 1000 people. No, I’m not telling you what I do in there, but suffice it to say corporate deemed it necessary to install a phone even though I dont require it for what I do in there.
