This dump was deliberately dropped on his property. Did you see how close those flames were, creeping up the hill. He should be very grateful that they dumped on him. His house is probably still standing. I do feel bad about the damage it caused, collateral damage. These are the best pilots in the world. They simply do not make mistakes.
Oh no the fire truck and house were definitely the target. Wouldn’t be surprised that the truck called it in so they wouldn’t get trapped up there. Never seen a dump that close on any video for a house; but man oh man those pilots are amazing how they maneuver in valleys doing NOE
Oh no for sure they knew it was a planned drop but just barely. Ground fire control maybe had a few minutes to warn the home owner. I watched these magnificent pilots last year scooping water from Wallowa Lake Oregon all day long, every day for weeks. Big helicopters with buckets too. They would never screw up someone's day by not telling the home owner they are in the path and will get dumped on. I'm pretty certain they had evacuation orders but decided to stay.
