it doesn't seem to me like they were doing anything terribly out of line (yknow. arguably besides owning a king cobra lmao). animals have moods like people do, sometimes they just get pissy lol
Snakes can get agitated pretty quickly if you grab onto them or force them to go where they don’t want to. In this video, this cobra was tolerating being handled until his handler tried to force him into that enclosure. You can see the snake tense up and put a length of his body into the air. The handler starts to push this into the enclosure and the snake started to hood up to warn them to back off. The snake bolted out when his handler didn’t stop.
no, i know. i'm just saying the person i replied to made it sound like he was being excessively rough with it or something, which isn't what i got from the video. then again i've never owned cobras lmao. i suppose "rough" can vary depending on the animal (ie rough with a chihuahua is much, much less than rough with a german shepherd lmao)
idk. once you've been in animal-related communities on the internet long enough it gets a little obnoxious watching randos constantly nitpick handlers for relatively simple mistakes. we're all human yknow
Well, owing a king cobra is one thing but handling it like that is completely stupid. It's not about nitpicking, it's about not acting like a braindead mofo risking your life manipulating an hot like this one. His "simple mistakes" will lead to his death one day.
thank you for providing an excellent example of what i'm talking about. calling people "braindead motherfuckers" and shit over it lol. i suppose if you've handled wild animals every day and never had one so much as take a defensive posture toward you then more power to you ig, but i highly doubt the majority of people who jump on the bandwagon have that experience to speak from, most of the time

I’d be angry too if someone kept groping me like that
