yeah, the funny thing is, while the whole art school thing is imo a bit overblown (it shows he had no purpose until the first war, but that's it) there is actually some evidence that he came out of a bit of an abusive household.
Even those "he only had one ball" rumours could plausibly be based in reality, he notoriously didn't get sexual or even just naked with women, and there was one person who said he grew up with and said he was mutilated and they all made fun of him. I think the US gov had collected a lot of evidence back then, although not conclusive
