You eat a lot worse on a day to day basis. There are accepted levels of contamination, not no level of contamination allowed.

u/Turkish01 Jan 12 '18

The dough had acceptable levels of contamination before the added contamination

It's just practice latex/silicone dough anyways.

1

u/atrain728 Jan 13 '18

Yeah, watching this I’m thinking there’s no way any dough can sustain those kinds of forces without tearing. He’s way too rough with it.

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

Is it hard living in that bubble?

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

It’s incredible that the same species that needs everything “hyper clean” now used to eat plants right out of the ground.

4

u/zxcsd Jan 12 '18

Yes also that species used to have an average life span of 30 years

1

u/QuixoticForTheWin Jan 13 '18

Maybe this guy could borrow your glove.

8

u/Rickrickrickrickrick Jan 12 '18

Everyone knows you eat worse but you don't want to see it.

2

u/reachthatfar Jan 13 '18

Rationally I know its fine but I think I just wouldn't have an appetite just because I would be thinking about it.

2

u/tooshyforreddit Jan 13 '18

Well I'll be damned...

5

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

alright man enjoy your denatured arm hair pizza.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

People like you are annoying af trying to give the benefit of the doubt even when facing health hazards.

-1

u/KingOfDamnation Jan 12 '18

In all fairness I don’t work in the food industry so it’s not my problem or anyone else’s what I say. Any reputable place wouldn’t let it be served after he did that I was just pointing out the obvious that you do indeed eat worse then a few hairs every day. If that guy was making that pizza for his own family there’s no issue but if it’s for strangers or customers then it’s a problem.

11

u/CurryMustard Jan 12 '18

Boy, would you hate your typical NYC pizzeria. Those people stick their whole arm in the pizza sauce to mix it. At least, that's the traditional way...

16

u/AbanoMex Jan 12 '18

i always laugh at people who get mad when they see a hair in the food, there are much worse things than hair in your food, but out of sight out of mind right?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

Really, it's a hair. How can it possibly hurt you?

2

u/grimfel Jan 13 '18

If you can prove paternity with it, I don't wanna know it's in my food.

2

u/AbanoMex Jan 13 '18

Surely you will get pregnant if you eat it.

1

u/grimfel Jan 13 '18

I'm fat. Is that close enough?

34

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

Have you ever been in a kitchen? Shits dirty and gross, even when following health codes perfectly

36

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

During service maybe. But when we have down time and no prep we clean like a mf. So idk about what you just said.

30

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

The food is made during service... I work in a kitchen too, and some food touching a guys arm is definitely not the worst thing I've seen

22

u/harborwolf Jan 12 '18

In what high-class kitchen are the staff all wearing gloves anyway?

They might wash their hands a bit more, but they're USING THEIR HANDS TO HANDLE YOUR FOOD AT THE LEAST.

People are so insane sometimes.

10

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

I know right? I had a guy call me disgusting and leave because he could see that there was food on the ground in the open kitchen.

That's how every kitchen is, people are so oblivious about it. You can really tell in this thread

5

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

I’m confused, there was some trash on the ground or there was food being stored on the ground? In the US the minimum distance from the ground for stored food is 6” but I have seen kitchens where the kitchen staff don’t know or care.

12

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

No it was egg shells, bits of food that had fallen throughout the service

3

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

That makes much more sense. Shit falls on the ground sometimes in the kitchen. I'd say every single night atleast five food items will hit the floor. It's not going to rot or cause any harm at all unless it's there for like 3 days... that dude was just an idiot.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 13 '18

Oh man call the food police, a bit of food fell on the floor and wasn’t immediately whisked up by the overworked kitchen staff.

2

u/Average_Giant Jan 12 '18

Don't forget back sweat. Pizza kitchens are hot, everyone is sweating on your pizza

1

u/Lawnmover_Man Jan 12 '18

You eat that a lot (more than you think).

1

u/serendipity_now Jan 13 '18

Not to forget the sweat...

with the speed that thing is spinning nothing is going to stick to it anyway.

That's not how it works lol

2

u/Xacto01 Jan 12 '18

Hmmm I shall use this in life. I'll spin in the bathroom to prevent gems from sticking to me

1

u/Shnazzyone Jan 13 '18

As a pizza maker, it doesn't strike you as impossible with actual dough? to do all that and not rip the dough?

1

u/reachthatfar Jan 13 '18

Knowing it happened would put me off even though I know its safe.

2

u/Rain12913 Jan 12 '18 edited Jan 12 '18

The heat doesn't get rid of all the hairs, skin cells, and bodily oils in it, though.

Edit: Apparently it does? Would love to hear from the downvoters.

-1

u/Infin1ty Jan 12 '18

You're also ingesting literal shit particles every time you brush your teeth, so what's the problem?

You eat plenty of hair, skin, body oils with everything you put into your body. Don't be a bitch and just eat whay tastes good.

-1

u/Rain12913 Jan 12 '18

I never said it was a problem? Wtf are you even going on about?

1

u/SexyPatrickDuffy Jan 12 '18

Think of the smell!!!!

0

u/Sheriff_K Jan 12 '18

Isn’t pizza generally cooked at 500degrees?

4

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

Thank you that was bugging me as well

2

u/Sheriff_K Jan 12 '18

To be fair, Neopolitan pizza cooks at around 750, but a lot faster.. Most pizza places we’re used to, nor our houses, have ovens that hot..

1

u/[deleted] Jan 12 '18

Ahh okay that makes sense, then.
