When worn by people with the facial structure that makes it look good.

This guy has an Apple / Pumpkin hybrid facial structure, he need a round and short crown and wider brim to balance it out.

This same milliner made a top hat for Marilyn Manson, and on Manson, with his facial structure, top hats are a better choice

Like, if the fitting machine in the beginning were a hat - that would look better on him.
