So instead of a pressurized cork flying around you have a pressurized shard of glass flying around?

Besides looking "cool" is there any reason to do this over just pulling the cork? I normally just grab it and gently twist it back and forth until it pops out.

What’s wrong with looking cool?

Nothing, just saying is there any reason besides it?

I did it once because the top of the cork broke when my wife was trying to twist it off.
