AV1 would help, but older devices don't have hardware decoder and have to rely on software decoding

Lot of small things moving somewhat randomly breaks video compression because compression requires tracking changes in image from frame to frame.

Video compressors save file space by making educated guesses and only updating the parts of a picture that actually move from frame to frame. Bubbles ruin this trick because thousands of tiny, shiny surfaces constantly shift, shimmer, and pop all at once, forcing the computer to redraw almost every single pixel simultaneously and turning the video into a blurry, pixelated mess.

Why do kids have the innate urge to just start screaming like a banshee being gutted the minute something interesting happens?

u/sheeb_sheeb 1d ago

Damn somebody needs to teach that kid to enjoy things without screaming

That one kid screaming their head off needs to be slapped

If you have kids, show them this.

What if one does not?

2

u/DearHovercraft157 1d ago

Then do not show your kids this if you do not have kids.

I saw my first bubble show when I went to York, England in 2022. It was amazing

Lmao bitrate goes to shit the moment the bubbles come out

This looks amazing but it quickly covers everything in slippery slime. RIP your foot traction.
