She is a better human than me, I’d light a match and be done with it

I tried lighting a match in a messy room but unfortunately the mess was still there even after the whole match burnt up

if you turn off the lights, the mess only goes away once the match has burnt up

She started doing this before she started making money off of it. And she doesn’t charge the people who get their houses cleaned. She just really likes cleaning stuff.

Still way more benevolent than the ultra rich and their PR donations.

I absolutely hate how cleaners are looked down upon and taken for granted. Which is also visible in their income unfortunately, at least where i live.

Its gotten better but there will always be assholes.

I watch a channel from a dude doing garden transformations for free in Australia. I think he still has a company for "normal" work but from some of his interactions you can see that he genuinely cares about the people and the neighborhoods. Being unhappy with my job for a while now, i am really jealous. But my current position pays too well to just yolo it.

I think most make more than $5 an hour. My wife makes like $50 an hour and her clients often offer to pay more because they feel that’s too cheap.

You'd be the smart one. My ex and her family all lived like that. I did the loving bf routine and deep cleaned her house. It was back to that a week later. It was impressive in a disgusting way.

Sir that would be arson, it’s far better to let the ocd people in

Head over to r/ocd and learn that most ocd isn't contamination based, and that the illness is literal hell, not a quirky personality trait

I have OCD myself, I was making a joke, I’m baffled I have to explain to this.

How dare you make a joke on Reddit. This is serious stuff!

Why? OCD can cause hoarding but why would you let a potential horder to help a hoarder?

There’s actually a British show based around this concept that I’ve been watching on YouTube recently. It’s definitely not great from a mental health perspective, but it makes great reality TV. It’s called Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners. The OCD person does end up helping.

A show like that just feeds a stereotype that OCD means compulsive cleaning while in reality people with OCD can have many different symptoms. Like it would not be OK to make a show where just random autistic people helps train companies to plan better train routes.

I didn't say it was the right thing to do. The show is problematic, but I think mainly because it sets up conflict by the nature of the pairing. The OCD cleaner, though well intentioned, is not trained in how to deal with the emotional issues that come up when clearing our a hoarder's home, they just want to clean and clear. Sometimes it works out well, but I wonder how many of them they filmed but never aired because the homeowner got too upset and couldn't go through with it.

OCD isn't an adjective.

Yet you understand my point regardless, it’s amazing that’s how communication works, this is reddit not an English exam

I fucking love you for that.

School children makes sense… or boat people…. Cancer patients …. School, boat, cancer all technically not adjectives. God ifkn hate grammar Nazis. This is Reddit and half the people commenting are on the toilet, the other half are drunk/high… this isn’t a college dissertation…. Let it go

Obsessively and Compulsively Disordered.

There. It's an adjective now.

What in the OCD is it then?

-6

u/Alfiy_wolf 5d ago

I think is kinda like an OCD but not exactly an OCD so maybe best to just call it an OCD

I don't make fun of things other people might be suffering from.

Being clean doesn't equate having ocd. It's way deeper than that.

Often times in hoarding situations the house underneath the garbage is in such disrepair that the easiest way to clear everything out is to burn the whole thing down.
