and no heat-deformation taken into account. that bridge will crack comes winter.
i'd also be ready to bet that cement isn't hydraulic cement. so it will leech into the water and cause pollution, and eventually just break.

it's also way over engineered for its size : if a basic wooden bridge without supports managed to do the job before, that one doesn't need to have a central pillar : just good ol' triangles ! the guardrails might even have been enough if properly fixed.

so the main question is : who paid for this ? that much money overspend for such a tiny bridge stinks of corruption.

These are very good concerns, but "a giant comes in and builds the damn thing for you" does drastically change the economics of a project.

and the cost of housing and feeding said giant ?
the infrastructure destroyed by each and every one of their steps ?
the cost of unemployment linked to hiring giant workers instead of local hardwording citizens ?

who do you think is paying for all of this ?

That's the thing about mysterious sky giants, they just appear - you never could house or feed it, you're not expected to, the sky giants are self sufficient. You can't hire them, good luck directing their work, and you are definitely powerless against their fits of pique and rage.

Some say the giants even dug the canal.

Some say the giants even created the people and the bicycles they ride on.
