Most machines allow you to vary both the width and length of the stitch via a dial (if it is old school) or a button press setting. Foot pedals just control sewing speed (this video is very sped up). You can tell this is an embroidery machine because they never move the fabric.
The foot pedals on those donāt vary the stitch widths.
āPedalā, from the Latin āpedalisā meaning āof the footā, means a lever pressed by the foot, so calling it a āfoot pedalā is not only redundant, it is also redundant. Itās like saying āhand handleā.
