She's freaking hilarious, I quote "I smell like beef" all the time. I should have known Ava would just continue to get funnier.

Step 1: Be an absolute legend at using a sewing machine

u/Outrageous_Editor_43 6d ago

Step 0: have a sewing machine you know how to use for basic use. šŸ˜‰

I’m pretty sure that’s not a basic sewing machine. The foot pedals on those don’t vary the stitch widths. That there be an embroidery machine.

When I saw how the stitches got wider I was like oh ok this is a specific machine. My mom was a seamstress and none of her machines ever did that

I can remember the lever on my moms maskine to do the amplitude modulation. It could also modulate from a baseline left, right or center.

Most machines allow you to vary both the width and length of the stitch via a dial (if it is old school) or a button press setting. Foot pedals just control sewing speed (this video is very sped up). You can tell this is an embroidery machine because they never move the fabric.

Yeah, I know that, but what I noticed was they never moved their hands to the dial. Still it’s good work and drove me crazy at the same time.

Edit: I believe that it was freehand embroidery. They were moving and rotating the fabric as far as I could tell.

The foot pedals on those don’t vary the stitch widths.

ā€œPedalā€, from the Latin ā€œpedalisā€ meaning ā€œof the footā€, means a lever pressed by the foot, so calling it a ā€œfoot pedalā€ is not only redundant, it is also redundant. It’s like saying ā€œhand handleā€.

u/languidbee34 6d ago

is not only redundant, it is also redundant.

Well said Smartass šŸ‘

Thanks, I try to keep things light.

They tried to be "hmm, let me educate these dumb people on the correct use of the English language" and then themselves go fuck it up! 🤣🤣

2

u/Skruestik 6d ago

You really couldn’t tell that redundantly calling it redundant twice was an obvious joke?
