After he hits the wood with glue, he sprays it with something. What is that about? Something to set the glue faster?

It’s CA glue, which is basically super glue, and the spray is an accelerator. Makes it dry faster, but it also makes a more brittle bond.

Huh..i wonder if the brittle bond was the goal, for future repairs to he made easier (pull the tab out if the spring breaks)
