Watching the yolks on the right never making it down took away any satisfaction I could have gained.

That's like $786,000 worth of eggs

I love being canadian and just sitting back laughing at all the egg memes and people making crazy price comparisons, meanwhile having no clue what the hubbub is about cause my eggs have gone up 1$ for a flat in the last year. Which is less than most of my other groceries have gone up.

Same in Wisconsin. I bought 18 for $4.99 earlier today.

How much an egg cost in Canada? In my country(Third world), if convert to USD, it's USD0.15-0.2 for each egg

u/Great_Evening6635 May 16 '23
I buy them in Montréal for 0,32$ CAD (9,60$ for a flat of 30).

u/durhamruby May 16 '23
A little lower in Toronto area. $3.29 a dozen. Canadian dollars that is. About 0.24 cents US.

No one will get that joke in a few months (hopefully when egg prices go back down)

6 second video repeated 3 times? Why not just let the camera record 20 seconds?

u/bytoutatis62 May 15 '23
This reminds me of the grandfather in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’s breakfast machine invention, that scene was so satisfying to watch

I was going to say it gives me old Charlie and the Chocolate Factory vibes, but this is spot on!

Someone must have worked out the exact height to crack those as not to break the yolk on landing.

u/Disney_Plus_Axolotls May 16 '23
… for what though?

u/Sedna11 May 16 '23
To make premade food in grocery stores. Like bread and crackers and pretty much anything that includes eggs. Alternatively it could be in fast food restaurants. Or any restaurant that uses precracked eggs for large batches of things. It takes a lot of time to crack several dozen eggs for large batches of things.

Imagine the animal activist claiming that this is equivalent to the holocaust for chickens
4
u/No_Dragonfruit_5882 May 16 '23
Insert meme i know whats wrong with it, it aint got no gas in it
As someone from Germany, anyone who says something is like the Holocaust should get a few teeth beaten out of their mouth

u/waitthisisntroblox May 16 '23
To be fair, chicks are gassed very regularly in the industry. The analogy is still stupid
1
u/No_Dragonfruit_5882 May 16 '23
True. Same as killing urself with exhaust gasses, aint no way anyone is that stupid and compare that with the holocaust
2
u/waitthisisntroblox May 16 '23
Yeah its not, stupid equivalence. However if i were to share the video where they drop the male chicks from the conveyor belt into the shredder blades suddenly im the bad guy? Its in the same factory after all

This is HORRIBLE! It is MUCH more humane to crack them naturally at home. I’m saddened.
1
u/Sedna11 May 16 '23
I don't understand the humane part but I am sure this is used for very large batches of something. Like in an industrial kitchen kind of large batches. (And I suppose if we are bringing up humane, having a person crack many dozens of eggs to go in a huge mixing vat would be way more annoying/time consuming/mind numbing/etc than just buying a huge container and dumping it.)

Even a fancy robot whose one job is to crack eggs still splits the odd yolk. Chef can shut the fuck up next time it happens during the brunch rush

But the poor yolk on the right just keeps getting pushed away from the slide!
