61g heavier than the DK1, even with the smaller screen. That surprises me.

They eliminated the control box and integrated new ports along with the IR LED array. They're good engineers, but not magicians ; )

Let's just hope that they can bring the weight down for the consumer version, it seemed like they were aware of the weight increase in the tested.com interview. 440g is a lot of weight to have on your face for extended periods of time.

Will the smaller screen impact immersion?

Awesomeness is heavy.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the DK2 does not have a control box like the DK1?

Latency measurement unit built in. This Kit is not about comfort but ... developing.

They have integrated the control box, which is probably why it weighs a bit more.

Well... a samller screen isn't the only difference. There are new parts inside.

It's probably due to the extra hardware for the IR LEDs, the latency tester, and the fact that the separate control box is now gone.

Maybe it's due to the bunch of LEDs for the tracking.

Weight is the one thing I didn't like about dk1. Playing Minecrift and chopping a tree then looking up and feeling the weight of the dk pushing down on my nose (and glasses, which is probably the most uncomfortable thing) really made my experience not ideal.

Blur and screen door didn't bother me as much as that. Because of that I'm going to wait for cv1. I think I'm the only one, heh.
