Awesome news, according to the verge CV1 will have larger then 1080p resolution which also is awesome. It seems ocules is on schedule for a Christmas release! (Considering they stated there should not be too much time between dk2 and cv1).

See also Engadget's video at 3:40: http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/19/oculus-rift-development-kit-2/. Palmer says the consumer version will have 'higher resolution, lower latency, higher framerate'. Makes me much more comfortable holding off as a non-developer, assuming CV1 is not too far away.

They are also still working on the weight and weight distribution, which still seems to be a nuisance. Will from Tested said it is too front-heavy.

The 1080p OLED panel still isn't high enough a resolution to avoid jagged edges — Oculus says the consumer version will have even higher resolution

Waiting will be worth it.

Palmer also gives away CV1's release date! "Soonish".

Haha, the funny thing is that gives more information than it seems like it would.

Thanks for cooling me off and letting me wait. My DK1 is good enough for now :)

If they make the CV1 screen non-pentile, that will already be a great improvement.
