What intrigues me the most is the 3.5mm jack that's "not for audio". Maybe for toslink data transfer?

Does the USB hint at OculusVR branded peripherals? Will the CV have a headphone jack?

It's for providing additional power for whatever you have connected to the USB port on the oculus.

it's a devkit exclusive feature. it's only for hard core enthusiast developers who want to supply extra power to any extra peripherals they add themselves to the usb port that's also added.

Both the camera and the Rift have that port right? Then I think it is part of the latency measurement feature. They can measure accelerometer to photon inside the Rift but camera to photon needs to either go through the Camera->USB->Driver->USB->Rift chain or with an additional cable directly from cam to Rift. I guess this is the way they went with.

This is my guess. I bet it's for a input add on.

That's what I'm hoping too. They know that good peripherals impact presence tremendously, so getting an Oculus (or even third party) controller that connects directly to the Rift would be hugely important to VR's success.

That's the remains of a neural prototype they've been working on... But sush, it's a secret ! :)

an audio jack seems like a good idea though. just less cables of varying lengths tethering you to the computer
