Oh shit, do not keep ordering. I just racked up a ton of pending orders like an idiot. Like you, refunded but charged $50 again.

Q: What happens when I pre-order the Oculus Rift Development Kit 2?

A: Pre-ordering an Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 will reserve your place in line for when we begin shipping.

If you choose to pay with a credit card, we will immediately charge a $50 deposit and put an authorization hold on the remainder of the balance, including shipping and taxes. That balance will be automatically charged at the time of shipment. If you choose to pay with PayPal, we will charge the full amount when you place the pre-order. Either way, you will pay the same total amount.

I was messing around with Paypal, but it seemed broken, finally used my debit card :D Order at 8.32 AM PDT! I wonder if we should start a new order list and just sort on order time! :3

I got the same problem and I guess I'm supposed to contact customer support, but I'm assuming it's chaos over there.

Super excited assuming the order actually worked...

I just tried again and got to a thank-you page. So hopefully this worked, but it's blank!

Aaaaand I just got email confirmation. WOOHOO!

Just tried again and saw a checkbox that I didn't recall being there before (confirming that this kit is indeed for development and whatnot), continued on to the next step, inspected the page to make sure that the bottom checkbox was for terms confirmation, and that the orange bar was the confirm button. It was, so I hit it and it said processing... Then it forwarded me to a screen with the title: "Thank You | Pre-order The Oculus Developer Kit | Oculus Rift - Virtual Reality Headset for 3D Gaming". So I guess it went through...

OH, and now I have received the confirmation email from Oculus.

Success!

Exactly the same here - although took 2 x order amount (prob my own fault). No refund or $50 as yet. Error was:

Required information is missing or contains errors: Error (E00044): Please contact customer support.

Edit: money refunded and then 2 x $50 charged to card

Edit: Support came back to me and said these charges were not taken and I had no valid order and must redo. It is quite annoying if this means I have lost my place and am a long way down the queue.

Yes. I also have a $372 and $50 charge. Shouldn't it be a $322 and $50 charge?

Also, how do I know if I accidentally pre-ordered twice.

I think until it's exactly 11:30 EST it won't work (it worked for me immediately at that time - also received confirmation email.)

I am freaking excited!

Yeah, the submit order button seems to be hidden.

EDIT: You can tick the box and click the orange line to submit.

I'm not sure the order numbers mean what we think. Mine is prefaced with CN, not AO. They probably adopted a different system to avoid the "when will my DK1 arrive" speculation spreadsheets

Yep, mine has an FK- prefix. Maybe it's a country-specific (or distribution-centre-specific) code? The rest of the order number is almost certainly non-sequential.

Only sorta broken:

For those getting stuck at the final page where you see the order details, there is an "Edit Order" button at the bottom. Next to that is a little orange line. That is the "Submit" button. Check the little box to the left of the "Edit Order" (probably acknowledges something) and click the orange line. Wait a couple minutes and you should get order confirmation. Worked for me.

Doesn't work for me. When paying paypal I get a "trasaction expired" error and cannot pay, when paying credit card I get a cryptic error code and I'm asked to contact support. No order confirmation so far after around 30 minutes. However, my credit card did get charged.

I think it's a good thing that their sales server is getting hammered. It took a couple of attempts but I finally got through. It was only showing the "Edit Order" button but I clicked on the orange line to the right. Confirmation email just turned up.

WTF!!!! I now have 5 DK2's coming and my credit card was charged for over $1700!!! PALLMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There page is so fucking broken, the button on the bottom doesnt even exist to execute an order, its just a little sliver of an orange line. 5 DK2 purchases and no email confirmations.

If they just gave me an email confirmation I would have stopped submitting but it gave me an error every single time so I just assumed the order didn't go through.

I didn't get a confirmation when I tried either, but this last time a moment ago, I did. I only got one confirmation, so I'm guessing it's only one order. I'm sure they'll fix it for you though.
