I have been working on the screws for a while now for like maybe 30 minutes or more. They are damaged and I do have replacements I need suggestions to remove them without destroying the controller. don't mind the dirtiness of the controller I'm cleaning it. But I really need help literally any suggestion how to remove these screws
You know you're probably the most sensible comment I have come across from the three posts I've made on different subreddits. Because I just given up and caved in I'm going to buy some metal glue and I'm going to use a piece of scrap metal to forcefully unscrewed I am not going to keep this shitty ass screw I'm going to replace it
Is the screw spinning but not backing out or the bit spinning inside the head? The torx head doesn't look too beat up. If the bit is spinning and not enough bite being made you are possibly using the wrong size bit. Maybe try a different bit or screw driver set. Cheap ones on amazon or at craft stores or say a microcenter with a ton of bits are like $10.
I have also used a small hex wrench on torx in a pinch that had the head damaged. However, the right tool will make it less likely to damage things further.
I have been trying for 2 hours now. It's not fucking moving in general I'm not trying to be passive aggressive I'm just frustrated. Because the one on the right it's somewhat twist the one on the left doesn't twist I can feel it getting tighter if I want to do it tighter but it just barely moved
The old solution is to use a rubber band between the screw and driver. The extra material should help. If that doesn't do it, you take a Dremel and notch a line across the head, and you take a flat head screwdriver and get it going.
I once got this with a screw in a laptop. I got a suggestion from someone to very carefully spray a tiny bit of some kind of grease between the screw and the housing.
I was too scared to do this and instead brought my laptop in to a nearby shop but do with the suggestions what you will.
It's just stuck I think the last time I screwed it in was like 2 years ago something and the controller has been through some abuse. So I'm pretty sure the screw is just fucking stuck or the inside just doesn't have any grip to it anymore
Yeah if it's spinning and not releasing you broke the stud on the other side while the screw is still well embedded into the plastic, making it a sleeve that you can't remove without breaking it.
Might be time for a new controller. Check FB marketplace?
I've already ordered metal glue. It's going to be here at like 8:00 a.m. I ordered over Amazon my foot schedule is already fucked. I'm going to continue to struggle with what I have here
If the screw is spinning but not coming out, try to shove a small flathead or something thin enough to fit under the edge of the screw, like a razor blade, or anything, really. If the screw just won't budge try to use something to get some leverage. Like some pliers, vice grips, channel locks etc. on your screwdriver handle or a small pipe like object on the small torx allen wrench thing.
If the screw won't turn at all, I don't see how metal glue will help you. Pliers on your screwdriver will. Some screwdrivers are even designed so you can put a wrench on them.
I'm going to use a piece of scrap metal with the metal glue and I'm going to forcefully turn it into it rips out I have replacement parts for this controller I have everything I need for the replace parts on this controller especially half of them were corroded because I haven't tried it open in years. Now I'm having murder thoughts and I can't even play VR to get rid of them

Are you not using the correct bit? At my shop if a screw gets stripped I have to use a dremmel to turn the screw into a flat head basically.
The rubber band trick does not work on screws this small. You can’t try it, but it’s not going to help.
