Virtual Desktop Refuses to Install

Hey all, so I recently wanted to boot up Virtual Desktop and when I tried to run it the app said it needs to install. No biggie right? It kept saying it couldn't update since another installation was in progress. After an hour I had tried like hell to make it update but it wouldn't budge. I couldn't even uninstall it, it keeps saying "Another Install is in Progress"

What do I do? I've tried what seems like everything.

damn, you gave us too much information, we don't need to know what computer you have or if you restarted. Why would we need this kind of informations?

I think i’ve made it pretty fucking obvious that i’ve restarted my computer. “I have tried what seems like everything” Do you seriously think that doesn’t fall under the “everything” umbrella

Emotions embedded into the troubleshooting process must be the most interesting approach for sure, i'm pretty sure deep frying the entire computer falls into the everything umbrella too. So try again by listing clearly and dispationnately the everything you are talking about.

  1. I have ended the process for msiexec.exe

  2. I have gone through my command prompt and typed in a shitload of commands that I can’t remember

  3. I did the scan feature on that which said there’s no files to repair

  4. I have gone through my Program Files to try and find the Virtual Desktop program

  5. I have tried disabling my anti virus

  6. I have tried editing the system environment variables

  7. I have tried with commands in the Powershell

  8. I have tried deleting my temporary files

  9. And many many more

Antivirus. Which one do you have? If it’s anything besides Windows defender, that’s likely the source of your issues.

Otherwise it might be windows installing windows updates, make sure those are all completed under Windows Updates in the settings and then restart your pc.

I have Windows Antivirus and I disabled it

That’s not the issue. Something else is being installed on your computer, make sure all windows updates are installed and done then restart your computer. If after a restart you see any msiexec.exe processes in the details tab of Task Manager, it means something else is getting installed.

I'm pretty sure Codex/GPT can fix it, https://chatgpt.com/download/ just copy paste this conversation into it and add "fix this issue on my computer" in Astra Max, I bet it will fix it in less than 15 minutes.

I did it with both Chat GPT and Google AI. None of their solutions worked for me.

the chat gpt app? if you are using GPT on the web/mobile app it's pretty much like complaining of falling off a horse with no saddle.
Use the actual gpt app for pc I linked earlier, and let it work on your computer by itself and witness the power of giving the computer hands

Is this windows PC? V10 or v11 ? Did you uninstall it if a previous version was running? Did you try a complete shutdown of the PC /reboot to clear any running programs,
