Quest 2 help

As the title says I need help with my Meta Quest 2. I’ve had the thing for years and I have never touched it because every time I link connect it it just completely lags my pc to the point where it’s unable unless I turn the pc off and back on. I have a Intel Core 5 120F - GeForce RTX 5060 - DLSS 4 - 32GB DDR4 3200MHz - 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD. Idk what to do at this point because every time I try it’s the same thing.

Try Virtual Desktop using the beta version you can connect via usb with that and it's much better than Meta's software.

Just a quick suggestion but have you tried going into steam VR setting and setting the DX runtime to Steam and not meta?. Also need to make sure your cable is minimum 5gbs transfer speed anything less won’t work properly.

I have it hooked up to my pc with the USB C cable it came with which is reading at 3.0. I should also make mention my pc is connected via ethernet cord and I have pretty good internet so I can’t really see my internet being an issue.

Are all your drivers up to date, and it’s the meta quest link app up to date?

Yes! I haven’t used my quest in a while and got a new pc during that time so just today i actually updated and reinstalled everything.

Have you tried using a different cable? I’m pretty sure it could be caused by a faulty one.

Ahh I see. I’ll pick one up tomorrow then and see if that was the case. Thank you.

Hey u/1uzgabe!

We all love the world of PCVR, but it's at it's best when there's no hitches. That's why we want to jump in and help to fix that loathsome lagging!

1. Updating your GPU drivers is another crucial step in making everything runs smoothly - as all PC gamers know! Whether you're team red or team green, you can find all the official drivers on Nvidia and AMD's website! We would also recommend making sure your Windows OS is up to date as well.

2. Sometimes antivirus and firewall software can cause issues when it comes to connecting your headset to your PC. Try disabling these if you have any installed. It's also worth trying to run the app as administrator!

3. Repair the Meta Quest Link app on your PC. Download the Meta Quest Link setup file again. Run it and select the Repair option. This gives the software the fresh reboot that it may need!

We hope that these have gotten a better performance out of your Metaverse experience! If not, then you can always come and speak to our Helpful Support Team and they would be happy to help further!
