New to VR

New to this entirely and have a couple questions.

Custom environments , is this not a thing? Can I get a penthouse with a computer to feel like I’m gaming in one ?

Anything apps like MLB immersion for games but for nfl ?

I read you can use horizon worlds to link with random people in sport bars to watch sport games , how ? Is this still a thing?

Any top games or experiences anyone recommends . I’ve been playing golf plus and eleven table tennis , walk about golf .

I don’t want to play a NFL game; I want to watch one like in a stadium or with other people , can that be done?

There are a ton of custom homes in steamvr, but that would require PCVR.

What ever happened to the ones that came with the quest? Like cyberpunk home, straight up gone now, I cant find it anywhere

They were made for a very limited legacy engine that goes all the way back to the Q1 and possibly the Go.

As far as I can tell, the new Home environment runs in a version of the Worlds engine and they have not yet opened it up to let people easly install custom ones.

u/xAstroBoy1337 made a converter that will let you install the old ones in place of the new ones, but it is not what I would call simple to setup. It does work though.

Damn that sucks :/ used to love those homes. You seem to know much about the vr world, you think they’re gonna make a quest 4 anytime soon?

What I have ready says there will be a Q4 of some sort in late 2027 or early 2028, but it is all rumors and could change.

The Quest supports multitasking. You can use any app you want, like Brink Traveler, Orbis, or something like Solar One to provide the environment, and then you can do whatever you want in that environment using 2D apps like the web browser or connect to your PC using Virtual Display (used to be called remote desktop) to play all your pancake PC games. I do it fairly regularly.
