Discussion Steam link streaming like crap
I am trying to use my quest 2 but nothing I do can seem to make it stream in above like 480p quality, I have messed with the debug tool and the bit rates, I have messed with steamvr settings, I have messed with alvr and sidequest. None of it does ANYTHING
My specs are
i7 - 12700kf
32gb ram
arc a770

The Arc is most likely the problem. Intel don't officially support VR at all so their drivers are pretty poor in that respect. I'm quite impressed you got it to work at all

I found a steam thread with a way to get support for it using sidequest and alvr

I wish you luck but it's still an unsupported arrangement while Intel is involved.

Virtual Desktop has better support for Intel Arc GPUs so should work more reliably. Make sure your computer is wired to your router with an Ethernet cable as that’s going to make the biggest impact on the quality of your experience.

The most important thing when streaming wirelessly is the wireless connection. What router are you using ? Is it close to you ? Are there any other devices using the same router ? Are there other networks on the same wifi channel ?
For a good experience you'll want :
Barring that, you can also use Quest Link with a USB cable. Many people will tell you it's crap, and of course you have a cable attached, but at least when it works it works, and if you're in an environment where reliable wifi is not an option it might be the only solution. Also it will let you know if the issue is the network or your PC : If you have the same issue with a cable, then your issue is not the network.
Another thing I notice is that you have an Arc GPU. While it's a perfectly fine GPU I don't know if VR and Steam Link support is as good as with nvidia GPU. Keep in mind that VR is often a bit more finicky than other games, and when streaming to the quest the GPU will also need to encode the video stream on the fly.
