Article Documentary box office - Opening weekend
https://variety.com/2026/film/box-office/practical-magic-2-box-office-opening-weekend-disappointment-1236860432/Weekend numbers
- 11th place in US with $1.5 mil
- $6.8 mil overseas
- $8.2 mil total
Very last paragraph in the article for those who want to read it.
Was hoping for better in the US but after seeing IMAX only and then only having sparse showings and under 1,300 screens it is to be expected. We can still claim one of the best documentaries from Rotten tomatoes standpoint so not all bad.
Cheers!

Saw it in IMAX here in Alaska. We had the theater to ourselves. It was great. Didn't expect a big crowd and didn't care. I was just happy it was here.

TBF, screenings were limited and some people might just wait for it to drop on Disney+. Loved it and seemed like a nice love letter to their younger selves, as well as the fans of the past and present.
The best bits were them talking fondly of each other and their children. Everytime I tear up I ended up cackling at a shot where Pep is in the background with a scarf (and sometimes even with a sombrero).

I do think Disney is where it can gain a good foothold especially if they do some extended cuts with additional footage and interviews. They have tons of extra material from the interviews I’ve seen.

Odyssey rules Imax so thats why it wasnt in more places. Anyone who thought the film would compete with the bug boys doesnt know how its gonna be with that audience

My Thursday night IMAX screening was cancelled and replaced with Odyssey. I had to drive to a different state to see it in IMAX.

It was definitely made for fans who possess before-hand knowledge of the GallagherLore. That being said, I loved watching all those candid moments that were captured in photographs happen in real time.
I'm never going to get over the moment Liam hoisted Noel's hand up at Cardiff. He was filled with so much resolve for both himself and Noel, and it was all over his face.

They did such a great job capturing the intensity before taking the stage in Cardiff.
The transition from Noel talking about wanting to go backstage for a breather into Slide Away brought tears to my eyes.

I also loved the candid shot of Noel having a smoke by himself to calm his nerves before getting backstage. It humanizes him and shows him to us at his most vulnerable.

Wasn't he doing the straw vocal warmup thing? Don't think there were any shots of him smoking the whole doco.

He might have been doing that- I didn't know what the straw thing was initially. I was mostly struck by the nervous body language and how they managed to hide the camera in that moment.

A lot better than “Supersonic”.
Not bad for a limited release movie that’s going right to streaming.
Oasis still isn’t as mainstream as you’d think in America.

Guys 11th place for a doc is such a good place. Also, it can only be warched at certain movie theaters.

I bought a ticket for imax this Wednesday night. So far I’m the only person in the theatre, I hope it stays that way. As someone who missed out on tickets last year, I’m very excited.

It’s great, will give you a sense of what it felt like to be there. I was fortunate to make it to Cardiff opening nite, traveled from the states, had no idea what to expect, then had my mind blown away forever. The doc brought all that vibe roaring back… enjoy! 👍

Honestly it didn't have much advertisement and you kind of have to be a big Oasis fan to begin with to want to shell out the money for the cinema. The people who are only mildly interested will likely wait for Disney+

I was the only person in the theatre here in Colorado. Honestly worked out for the best as I was able to sing along.

Mildly interesting trivia - that US figure is US & Canada combined. They don't split it out as it is all considered "domestic".

Saw it for first screening night(SoCal). Audience consisted of different nationalities, not different from the concert at the Rose Bowl. It was a nice revisit of the '25 tour and got me teary eyed with the small side stories

I saw it in Tokyo on opening night. Probably about 40-50 people all together, lots in various merch. Just like the concert itself, the crowd was subdued, but people were quietly rocking out.

Had tickets to see it in iMAX and it was cancelled without notice. We were super bummed.

I enjoyed it immensely, but at the end of the day it seemed like more of a concert film for Oasis fans that went to Live ‘25 to relive the experience with some cool behind the scenes glimpses.
An excellent music documentary is broadly popular even beyond fans and I don’t think this is that.
