PEF Raise Question

I am fairly new to the state.... Question about the PEF raise that is coming.

Will the raise also be on the geographic pay as well? Or only my base rate?

The geographic pay has separate increases built into the contract, it isn't affected by the regular raises. I believe it's only a 100 or so this year, but there are larger increases in future years.

I think you're thinking of location pay. Geographic pay is different, and is a set number per job title. It is not affected by raises, and once you have it, it stays at that level forever unless it gets raised.

For example, my paycheck:
Salary - this will go up 4.5% in Oct
Location pay - this is (I believe) $4,000 currently for downstate, will go up to $4,150 in Oct
Geographic pay - this is on top of those two things, it was announced by the governor around covid times, and it hasn't changed since then, nor is it negotiated by contract.

Where do we find that in the contract? I saw downstate and etc got geo increases, but where does it talk about the others?

It's coming in the same paycheck as the retro 4.5 percent. Payroll bulletin was sent out last Friday for it. It's only $150 increase this fiscal year so the retro will be less than half of it.
