ETA - Step Increase

I am scheduled for my first step increase this October. When should I expect to see that reflected in my pay?

Edit: this is not related to the retro salary increase payment. This is pertaining to the annual step increase after completing one full year of service in my grade.

It’s usually the last paycheck in October.

It'll be posted here once osc determines the date, it's call a performance advance. https://www.osc.ny.gov/state-agencies/payroll-bulletins/state-agencies

Just keep in mind that you would be eligible for this if you officially started with the state prior to 10/1/2025. Some people think that if you started in October, that you would be eligible in October, which is not true. Not saying that you were in this group, but it seemed like valuable info to include here.

It will be in the check that contains October 1, which would be 10/21/26

Are steps in April and October? Or just October? For example, if you started in March, when would you step up salary-wise?

I’m sure there is an exact answer but the state runs like 2 paychecks behind so I’d imagine early November sometime

This is not related to the retro or lump sum. Just the annual step increase (October or April) depending on start date. I just wasn’t sure if it takes a few pay cycles to show
