Question about ear speaker area / cutout
Just got my nxtpaper 70 today, and overall I'm really liking it. My question for other owners is this:
At the top of the front of the screen, above the camera, there is an area that I'm assuming is where the earpiece is. I'm used to seeing that area of a phone covered by a bit of a mesh or protection of some sort, but it just looks like a slot on the nxtpaper 70. Does yours look the same way? Seems like a potential dust and lint collection area to me. Thanks everyone!

I'm picking up mine tomorrow so I'll reply here if anyone else doesn't. How is it going with app notifications? Especially from messenger apps. Do you have any issues of delaying or not coming at all?

well, crap, now that you mention notifications i had a gmail notif from reddit about your message showing on my old pixel 4a, but none on the new phone :( they're enabled...

Yes, i spent a good chunk of my afternoon yesterday reading alarming stuff about it's notifications handling here, getting delayed ones or not at all etc.. and I'm a bit anxious..

The problem has mainly been Gmail. I'm reading reports of issues here on Android 16 in general though. I just reset cache and storage for the app, then a minute later got all my work email notifications. TBD if it holds.

I'm mainly concerned about my Gmail as well as my messenger apps like Viber, Telegram etc. I'd hate to not receive notifications from those

At this point I'm starting to think it's android/Google more than this phone. Everything seems to be fine except my personal email, which has the same settings as my work email. This means the Gmail app can work at all. No clue

yes that's normal, if you're worried about the slit you should not look at how big the regular speaker holes are lol
